The first 3 days were spent in Thuribhvan University Hospital where Team Neverest hosted a full days teaching and a dry bone work shop to fix ankle, hind foot and forefoot problems and a shoulder rotator cuff repair workshop. We attended clinics and helped to teach in operating theatres. Up to £500000 worth of Orthopaedic equipment was donated.
We visited the SERC (Special Education Rehabilitation Centre) a special needs school which we support. Having built a residential block to house 35 children last year, Neverest Foundation has agreed to help build a physiotherapy Rehabilitation block, dining room and further accommodation for 40 children this year.
We visited Neverest Foundation Orphanage in Lapsephedi where we gave our orphans a new table top computer and mobile phones and iPads. Large amounts of books were donated to the SERC, the orphanage and the School that the orphans attend.
The following 3 days were spent in Nepal Orthopaedic Hospital teaching in clinics and theatres.
Neverest Foundation has agreed to help build an operating theatre suite at the Chitwan Spinal Rehabilitation Unit in order to help make it self sufficient financially in the middle to long term. We hope to raise £150000 to £200000 in order to build the theatre suite and wards. The plan is to raise this sum within the next 18 months so that work can commence on this build as soon as possible for the badly needed spinal rehabilitation Unit in Chitwan.
